Questions, answered
What people ask before, during and after an order. Can’t find yours? Ask us.
Ordering
What’s the minimum order?
Custom logo orders start at 12 pieces of one garment. Mix colors and sizes of that garment to get there, like 6 black and 6 navy hoodies. Adding a second garment is fine when it reaches 12 on its own, like 12 hoodies and 12 polos. Made-to-order shop designs have no minimum, and neither does build-your-own text, so a single piece is fine.
What can you embroider on?
T-shirts, polos, crewnecks, hoodies, jackets and caps are our regulars. We check the fabric and the spot before recommending a garment, so tell us the style you have in mind and we’ll confirm it.
Where are you, and can I pick up?
Our workshop is in Discovery Bay, California, and we ship across the US and to many other countries. If you’re local to Discovery Bay, ask about drop-off instead of shipping.
Your logo
What file do you need?
Any file is fine to start. A vector (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) is ideal, and a clean PNG or JPG works too. Send the biggest version you have. Screenshots and tiny web images are the ones that cause trouble, and we’ll tell you if we need a clearer file.
Will my logo work in thread?
Most logos do. Text needs to be about 5 mm tall for block capitals, 6 mm for most fonts and 10 mm for scripts, and lines at least 1 mm thick. Gradients and photos don’t translate to thread. We flag anything that won’t stitch cleanly before your order runs, and the artwork guide has the details.
How big can my logo be?
It depends on the spot and the garment. A left-chest logo is usually 3 to 4 in wide, one across the chest 8 to 10 in, a full back is sized to the garment, and caps have the least room. The placement guide shows each spot, and we confirm the size for your garment before anything is sewn.
How many thread colors can I use?
Up to 15 in one design, with no charge per color. We match the threads to your logo for you. Fewer colors often make a small logo clearer.
Can you match my brand colors?
As closely as thread allows. Send your Pantone or hex values with your logo and we’ll match them. You see the real colors in the photos of your stitched sample before we sew the rest of your order.
I don’t have a logo yet. Can you help?
We prepare artwork for embroidery rather than design new brands. Send your words, references or rough artwork and we’ll tell you what we can prepare, or whether a designer is the place to start.
Price and payment
How much does it cost?
The garment, the stitching for each logo spot and a one-time digitizing fee for a new logo. With one logo at the 12-piece minimum, each piece starts at: T-shirts from $19.46, Polos from $28.51, Crewnecks from $32.94, Hoodies from $34.87, Caps from $21.80. Bigger runs cost less a piece. Build my order shows your exact price as you choose, or get a quote for anything unusual.
What’s digitizing, and do I pay it every time?
Digitizing turns your logo into the stitch file the machine sews. We have yours professionally digitized for a one-time fee per logo: $29.99, or $49.99 for logos over 7.5 in wide. Reorders reuse the file, so you don’t pay it again. A new size or a very different garment can need a new file.
Do bigger orders cost less?
Yes. The price per piece steps down at 24, 48 and 100 pieces.
How do I pay?
Custom orders are paid in full by card when you approve your quote, and a quote holds for 14 days. Shop orders are paid at checkout.
Sample and timing
Will I see it before you sew my order?
Yes. For a new logo, we stitch one sample and send you photos of the real thing, and we sew the rest of your order once you approve it. Reorders of an approved logo skip this step, and shop designs don’t need one.
How long does an order take?
Most orders are made within 1 to 2 weeks of payment, then shipped, and US shipping usually takes 3 to 5 business days. For a new logo, the time you take to approve your stitched sample is added. Shop designs show their estimate on the product page. If your date is tight, tell us and we’ll say whether we can make it, before you pay.
Can you rush an order?
Often. Rush can usually get an order made in about a week, when our schedule allows. It depends on the design, the garments and what’s already booked, so tell us when it must arrive and we’ll give you a straight answer, with any rush cost, before you pay.
What if something isn’t right?
Tell us when you see your stitched sample and we’ll adjust it before the rest is sewn. If a finished order has a stitching fault or doesn’t match the approved sample, send us photos within 30 days and we’ll remake it or refund you, your choice. Custom orders can’t be returned for a change of mind; unworn shop pieces can be returned within 30 days. Returns and refunds has the details.
Shipping and after
How much is shipping?
US standard shipping is free on every shop order. Custom-order quotes include shipping. International shop orders show the carrier rate at checkout, and any duties or import taxes are paid by the buyer.
Can you ship to more than one address?
Often, yes. List the addresses and how many go to each in your quote request, and we’ll confirm the split and the shipping before you pay.
Do you keep my logo for reorders?
Yes. Approved stitch files stay on file, so a reorder skips the digitizing fee and usually the sample step. The 12-piece minimum and current prices still apply. Your logos and past orders are in your account.
